Keeping Students Safe in Abertay University Accommodation

 

Abertay is one of Dundee’s two universities. It provides student accommodation in shared flats situated in two buildings, Keiller Court and Lyon Street Halls

 

Our Client’s Challenges

 

• The University needed to ensure electrical compliance for all its properties.

 

• Work is usually completed when students move out of their accommodation during holiday periods, but the COVID-19 related lockdown posed access problems, as many students could not return to their homes due to travel restrictions.

 

Our solution

 

• We worked with Abertay University to reschedule works to the short period between students vacating rooms once travel restrictions were lifted, and new students moving in for the next term.

 

• Our team of two electricians provided Electrical Installation Condition Reports and completed all required remedial works and extensive additional upgrades for over 80 student flats in just five weeks.

 

• Our team members are uniformed, carry ID cards and work to a detailed code of conduct, including strict COVID-19 precautions.
