Case Study
OUR CLIENT
LIDL Supermarkets
Famed for its in-store bakeries and ‘middle of LIDL’ aisle, LIDL is one of the UK’s fastest growing supermarkets. The chain has invested almost £1.5bn in its expansion across the UK since 2019 and has over 100 stores in Scotland.
Our client’s challenges
LIDL takes pride in providing its customers with the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices. Part of its action to keep prices down is ensuring its stores have as little ‘down time’ as possible – so keeping the stores safe for customers and colleagues, and ensuring all facilities are in good order are essential to its success.
The LIDL facilities management team were looking for a reliable contractor with excellent service and a broad range of expertise to provide reactive and planned maintenance for its East Scotland stores. LIDL operate on a regional basis and just as they source food from local suppliers, they prefer using local contractors to maintain their stores.
Our solution
-
We provide reactive and planned maintenance for LIDL’s East Scotland region which ranges from Dunbar to Alloa, taking in Fife, Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee and reaching as far north as Peterhead.
-
With the range of skills we have in the team and our responsive approach, we quickly provide qualified teams to attend to any facilities challenge stores may face – from electrical issues and broken glass to flood damage and faulty doors.
-
We also undertake the stores’ planned maintenance including looking after their automatic doors and life safety systems.
-
Always willing to go the extra mile to help, we’ve lent a hand on many other things including collecting trolleys that have been removed from store and assisting with COVID protection measures.
-
LIDL’s team benefit from direct telephone access to Summit directors when they need our help – we don’t operate a call centre or online service booking system, it’s straight to the management team, every time.
